1. Bloc Party release Silent Alarm Remixed through Wichita Recordings. It features remixes by friends, artists and associates of all the tracks on the bands debut album released in February this year. The album will be available on both CD and double LP/5(20).

2. Bloc Party take a more serious approach on Silent Alarm than many of their contemporaries like Franz Ferdinand or The Futureheads did on their debuts. At times, they are equally energetic with tracks like "Banquet" and the opener "Like Eating Glass", but Kele and the rest of Bloc Party take their foot off the gas throughout Silent Alarm as well. These moments provide more mixed results.

3. In particular Ladytron's version of 'Like Eating Glass' almost made me consider not listening to the whole CD at all. After a couple of listens the album has grown on me, but my overall opinion on it hasn't changed much. It may be because I love Bloc Party so much that I am biased towards to remixes, but I will admit they are interesting.
